No one likes having to pay legal fees! I know that. But let’s face it, the situation that you and your children are facing right now, is quite possibly (and hopefully), the worst thing that will happen to your family, ever.

I will always be up front about legal fees, because, however stormy things are right now, I know that fees are a huge concern for clients.

As at 1 April 2025 my hourly rate is between $340 - $400 per hour, depending on complexity and urgency.

I know that taking the plunge to engage a lawyer can be difficult. I offer a one-off initial consultation with me for $299.00 incl GST. This allows us to meet and you to ascertain whether I am the right lawyer for you. I will obtain some information from you and be able to discuss with you the processes available to you, and we can discuss fees and payment options. The $299 fee is a discount on my usual hourly rate, and is payable in advance. Appointments are available via online or, in person in my Dunedin office.

I do not do Relationship Property work on legal aid at all, and I have very limited availability to act for parents in Oranga Tamariki matters.
