How do I know I can rely on Rochelle?

One way to know that your family lawyer is a professional and is keeping up to date with the latest legal research is to consider what legal organisations she or he belongs to. Good family lawyers are likely to belong to relevant associations that support them in their work.

I am a member of the following professional legal organisations:
  • New Zealand Law Society
  • New Zealand Law Society Family Law Section
  • New Zealand Bar Association
  • Otago Women Lawyers Society (OWLS)
  • Family & Youth Courts Association (Otago)
  • Otago Family Lawyers' Forum

All of these organisations provide regular seminars, newsletters, magazines and journals that ensure that each year I complete far in excess of the required hours of Continuing Professional Development and stay on top of any changes to the law.

The Family Law Section is a specialist group of Family Lawyers in New Zealand. Its members are lawyers who spend most or all of their time practising Family Law and are thus more likely to be experts in that area.

By being a fully paid member of the Family Law Section, I have access to the latest research on Family Law matters. I am invited to attend annual specialist family law seminars and I receive bulletins whenever there is a significant change regarding a Family Law issue.

For you, the client, it means you can be assured that I am a specialist in all Family Law matters.

As a member of the public, you can access the public pages of the Family Law Section website where there is useful general information on Family Law matters.
